Foundation Hires First 
Executive Director, Cindy Soltis

Cynthia F. Soltis is Vice President of BD Associates, a human resources consulting firm. She has more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of human resources, including recruiting, staff development, training, compensation and benefits, policy development and implementation, and executive coaching.  She also serves as a Business and Industry Trainer and an adjunct faculty member at Lord Fairfax Community College, teaching courses in leadership, management, supervision, conflict management, meeting facilitation, time management, project management, stress management, positive relationships, customer service, and a variety of human resources topics.  She also serves as an executive coach.  She has worked as an adjunct faculty member at Shenandoah University, where she developed and taught six-week certificate programs in Human Resource Management and Customer Service, as well as serving as Program Coordinator for the Quad State Emergency Preparedness Program run by the Marsh Institute at Shenandoah University.

 

Cindy has a Bachelors Degree in Communications/Public Relations from James Madison University and a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management from Marymount University.  She is also a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR), a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a qualified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) instructor.

 

She serves as a Director for the South Atlantic Division (SAD) of the American Cancer Society (ACS) which serves a seven state region and the District of Columbia, and was a delegate to the ACS National Assembly. She serves on a number of division committees in support of the ACS mission, including serving as chair of the division Volunteer Initiatives Workgroup and the Bylaws Committee, and volunteers at a local level with the Shenandoah County Community Leadership Council and Relay for Life.  She is also a member of the National Talent Strategy Advisory Committee.

 

Cindy is past president and a Paul Harris Fellow of the Woodstock Rotary Club, where she is active on a number of committees, including chairing PolioPlus, Coats for Kids, and the Annual Officer Induction Dinner, co-chairing the Annual Anniversary Celebration, and serving as Happy Dollar Chair as well as being involved in many fund raisers and service projects.  She also serves her community through several other organizations including the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Foundation Board, the Board of ShenPaco Industries, Inc. (a sheltered workshop serving the physically and mentally handicapped), the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival Board, volunteers with Kids Voting of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, is an active member of Toms Brook United Methodist Church.
